"The contribution and work of our parents is an integral component of school life at Galilee. We provide many and varied opportunities for participation in the life of the school."
Ways in which parents can assist the school include:
Classroom HelpersParent helpers are encouraged throughout the school at Galilee. In particular during the Literacy Advance literacy block. These parents participate in a 3 week training program to enable them to effectively support the teachers and children.
The Education Board consists of Staff, Parents and the Canonical Administrator. It's Responsibilities include the development of a Christian community within the school.
The parents and friends associations main function is to assist the principal in raising funds for the school. This is through specific fundraising activities which include sausage sizzles, chocolate drives, free dress days, theme days and our major fundraiser the School Fete. New parents are always welcome to attend the parents and friends monthly meeting.
When teachers organise excursions for the students often they will ask for parents to assist on the day. For excursions to go ahead there must be a required number of adults per students, so this type of assistance is appreciated by both staff and students.
